On social media, the influencer Camila Monteiro published a video that shows the evolution of his weight loss process after four months of constant physical activity. In the content, she, who weighed more than 120kg and has already managed to lose more than 24kg, told how running won her heart, transformed her life and helped to obtain the desired results.
“I truly thought I was at rock bottom. I thought I wouldn't be able to start over again. I've lost weight countless times, but never once was it with constant physical activity. This time, I decided to do it differently, but I didn't imagine that, halfway through, I would fall in love with running. And it was through running that I gained something I didn't have: discipline“, he began.
“In the last four months alone, I have covered more than 200km. And I liked this universe so much that I started doing other sports to improve my running skills.. And, to my surprise, I am very strong, and I'm not talking about physical strength, I'm mainly talking about constancy, which was what I lacked most. In addition to the kilometers I have already accumulated, I participated in two 5km races, and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. In addition to signing up for another 5km race, I signed up for a 10km race, and I'm thinking about another one for the end of December too”, she added.

In addition to weight loss: 5 more benefits of running
1
Helps with the respiratory system
“It works on resistance, strength and all exercise ends up leading to physiological stress. The body's chemical response to this physiological stress is adaptations in the respiratory, cardiac, skeletal muscle, and central nervous systems. A study from the University of Vermont, in the United States, indicated that the human body shows strengthening of the respiratory system after 18 weeks of constant running,” comments the Yago Fernandesendocrinologist and specialist in the weight loss and hypertrophy segment

Improves heart condition
When you start running, your entire body enters a process of structural and functional remodeling of the heart according to the new demands.
“When running, there is an overload in blood volume, requiring the heart to pump a large amount of blood to the muscles so that the runner continues the exercise. As a result, the heart chambers dilate and the myocardium (heart muscle) increases. The effects of this are: decreased blood pressure, decreased heart rate, making it easier for the heart to use less energy to transport blood throughout the body, increased tolerance to intense aerobic exercise, etc.”, he explains. Tones the brain
Yes, that's exactly what you read. Research shows that aerobic exercise can also tone our brain, increasing the process of creating brain cells and connections between neurons, which can improve attention, concentration and creativity.

Benefit from a core
First, we need to understand what the core is. The core is the entire compartment of the abdomen including the roof of the diaphragm, the pelvic floor (muscles at the bottom of the pelvis that hold pee) and the entire abdominal wall. He is essential for controlling posture and movements in ANY and ALL physical activities.
“Running benefits the core because it requires the necessary work to generate stability and produce strength” explains Matheus.
5
Promotes mental health
Running also reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety as effectively as antidepressants. “When we run, we increase levels of calming chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. Releasing tension and relieving stress” says Yago Fernandes.
